Paul Mitchell Graduation

December 5, 2008 I graduated from Paul Mitchell! (I still have about a week and a half until I finish all my hours though). For the graduation we each prepared a model to show off our work. My brother, Steven, was kind enough to do a little photo shoot for me with my model! He did an amazing job!!!!

This is my friend Venessa. She also goes to hair school with me. I did her hair and makeup. I got the inspiration for her hair from a picture I saw in a magazine. Her hair is long so we diffused, curled, knotted, pinned, and sprayed it up. The hair piece I made. We had a lot of fun!!!

Their were about 25 students graduating i believe. All of these girls were from my original "core" group that I started with, September 17, 2007. Not all of us graduate at the same time, some took breaks.

My loyal friends :) They all came to see me graduate. Brittany crowder, Allison Barker, James Barker, Mike Moesel (even with a broken leg and drugged up from his surgery!!!), Sarah mabey, and Courtney Tashjan. Thanks guys for coming!!!! About 15 others joined us for dinner at California Pizza Kitchen afterwards, as well as a dollar movie. It really was a fun night!

I'm SO excited!!

These next few weeks could be some of the most exciting weeks of my life, thus far! Let me tell you-
1. I passed the written portion of the state boards for my cosmetology license last Wednesday!
2. I take the practical (hands on) portion on December 16!! I'm not necessarily excited, or looking forward to this, but I'm excited to have my license!
3. My last day of Hair school is December 17th!
4. My graduation ceremony from hair school is this friday, December 5th. (Note: My most loyal friends are expected to attend, since no one in my immediate family will be avaliable)
5. I'm going home for Christmas/New Years/Relaxation/Warmer Weather/mom's cooking/family/friends/dates hopefully/my cats/In N Out on December 19th!!!!!
6. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...... (Drum roll please)........ I'm getting my braces off on Monday, December 15!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I originally was no supposed to get them off until the end of March. It was recently moved up to January. This week I called and asked my orthodontist if waiting until January was truly necessary, or if I could get them off before I go home for the Holidays. He must have felt sympathetic that day, because he agreed to take them off before I go home. I couldn't be more excited. :)

What am I getting at you ask??? ---expect pictures. :)

Halloween

The night before Halloween I decided I really was not looking forward to "party hopping" on Halloween, and so my friend and I decided to throw our own Halloween party. We had a steady flow of people coming in and out of our apartment from 10pm until 2am. It turned out a lot better than I even expected! This was definitely a Halloween to remember. It really was a lot of fun. We decorated cookies, ate food, mingled, and danced. It was great :) My friend did my hair at school earlier that day. It was pretty ridiculous. I had the sides corn-rowed into a mohawk and then teased all of my hair. It was not the easiest thing in the world to get out... But it may have been worth the pain. I haven't decided yet.

My new Bike!

It's a little ridiculous, I know, to get a bike just as fall/winter starts, but I did it anyway. My friend, Brittany, and I both splurged on beach cruiser bikes a few weeks ago. We have been riding them a LOT, but it's getting colder and dark earlier, so we find ourselves not riding as often... but either way. We love our new bikes! We ordered them online and had to assemble them ourselves when they came! Mine, thankfully, was pretty easy to assemble. Brittany's brought sweat and bloodshed. literally. We were grateful her Dad happened to be in town when the boxes arrived, so he put the majority of hers together. Here is me on one of our very first bike rides. We rode our bikes all over campus the first night. We were too nervous to be on busy streets in the dark for our first ride.

A few hairdo's I've done

I knew I would like hair school, but I had no idea how much I would like it. Paul Mitchell the School has given me so many opportunities to further my education and to challenge myself. Here are a couple updo's that i've done.

New Roommates

Brittany and Marianne. two of my three roommates. They are seriously the greatest! we have way too much fun living together

I just felt left out of the blog world!

I have no children, no husband, and nothing you would normally see on a blog, but I really wanted a blog anyway!! So here I am, officially a "blogger". It feels great.
